FAQs

What is immigration DNA testing, and why is it required?

Immigration DNA testing is used to verify biological relationships between family members applying for visas, passports, or other immigration processes. It’s often required by immigration authorities to confirm family ties when documentation alone isn’t sufficient.

Who needs to take the DNA test?

Typically, the individuals needing testing are the family members whose relationship needs verification. This can include parents, children, siblings, or extended family members like grandparents or aunts/uncles.

How is the DNA sample collected?

DNA samples are collected using a non-invasive cheek swab. A professional will rub the swab on the inside of the cheek to collect buccal cells, which is simple, painless, and quick.

Can DNA samples be collected outside the UK?

Yes, we have a global network for sample collection, allowing us to coordinate appointments at medical practices, clinics, or consulates in various countries.

How accurate are the results?

Our DNA tests analyse up to 45 genetic markers, ensuring highly accurate results that can confirm or exclude biological relationships.

What documents are needed for the test?

Participants must bring a valid form of photo identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, to confirm their identity during sample collection.

What happens to my DNA test results?

We will distribute copies of the report only to the individuals specified in the Report Distribution section of the registration form. No other parties will receive the results unless they are explicitly mentioned in this form. If you need a copy of the report sent to the British High Commission or Embassy, please ensure to include their details.

Is there an age limit for participants in DNA testing?

There is no strict age limit; however, for minors, parental consent is typically required to proceed with the testing.

How do I prepare for the DNA sample collection?

There is no special preparation needed for the sample collection. Just ensure that all participants bring a valid form of ID and arrive at the scheduled appointment.

Can I get my results expedited?

We offer expedited services for urgent cases. Please discuss your needs with our team at the time of booking to explore available options.
